Prof. Charles Norman Allen, Oregon Health & Science University, USA, paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Masayuki Ikeda, Executive Vice President and Faculty of Medicine, University of Toyama.

On November 18, 2024, Prof. Charles Norman Allen from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Masayuki Ikeda, Executive Vice President and Faculty of Medicine of University of Toyama (UT).

OHSU is a public university in Oregon, USA, consisting of School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, School of Public health and college of Pharmacy. Prof. Masayuki Ikeda, Executive Vice President of UT and Prof. Allen have been academically collaborating for many years. Since 2023, when Prof. Allen was appointed as UT¡¯s Liaison Professor, he has been contributing to UT¡¯s globalization.

This time, Prof. Allen visited Prof. Michikazu Sekine, Dean of School of Medicine, UT. With Prof. Masayuki Ikeda, three of them discussed the promotion of international exchange, especially in student exchange, between OHSU and School of Medicine, UT.

By this visit, it is expected that academic exchange between the two universities will become more active in coming years.
