From April 21 to 25, 2025, the delegation from Inner Mongolia Medical University (IMMU) and IMMU Affiliated Hospital in China, consisting of five clinical medicine students, five pharmacy students, and two accompanying faculty members, visited the University of Toyama (UT). This visit was conducted under the University Exchange Relationships and provided a valuable opportunity to deepen academic exchange and cultural understanding.
On April 21, an opening ceremony was held in the Center for Innovation in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where Professor Matsuya, the Dean of School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences introduced our university, and Associate Professor Su Rina from IMMU gave a greeting. Following this, a tour of the Experimental Station for Medicinal Plant Research and an exchange with UT students took place, allowing students from both universities to enjoy academic discussions and cultural exchanges.
During the visit, the students from IMMU visited the laboratories of School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Institute of Natural Medicine, where they learned the cutting-edge research results and facilities and had the opportunity to receive direct guidance from the faculty members of each laboratory. Additionally, they visited pharmaceutical-related facilities and the Toyama Glass Art Museum in Toyama City, gaining insights into the region’s traditional medical and cultural aspects.
At the closing ceremony on April 25, Professor Nakagawa, the Dean of School of Medicine gave a speech, and the students from IMMU presented their training reports. The delegation expressed their gratitude for the beautiful scenery of Toyama and the warm welcome they received. It is expected that international exchange with UT will become more active in the future.
