Delegation from IITKGP Pays Courtesy Visit to the University of Toyama
On November 26, 2025, a delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP) paid a courtesy visit to President Saito, the University of Toyama(UT).
Established in 1951, IITKGP is the oldest among the Indian Institutes of Technology and is internationally recognized for its research in agricultural engineering and environmental sciences, particularly in smart agricultural technologies and sustainable farming systems. IITKGP has made significant contributions to global food security.
UT and IITKGP have continuously collaborated through seminars on climate-smart agriculture and joint research projects. Based on these activities, both universities have discussed concluding an academic exchange agreement and establishing a double degree program.
After greetings from President Saito and Professor Dillip Kumar Swain of IITKGP, the academic exchange agreement was signed in a warm and cordial atmosphere. IITKGP delegation will continue their stay at UT and hold discussions with the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Sustainability Studies.
Our collaboration is expected to become more dynamic going forward.
