Online international exchange through JST Sakura Science Program
The School of Sustainable Design, University of Toyama held an online exchange with 6 universities (Chiang Mai University, Thailand, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Viet Nam, Shandong University, China, Shanghai University, China, China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China,) on January 10, 2022.
This activity is supported by the 2021 “Sakura Science Program” of the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
By exchanging ideas in the field of science and technology among the participants of the Sakura Science Program, we pursue:
– Support the development of talented people overseas who have the potential to contribute to innovation in science and technology; and support continuous interaction between Japan and other countries and regions.
– Promote globalization of Japanese educational and research institutes.
– Strengthen good relationship between Japan and other countries and regions as well as ultimately we pursue the development of science and technology in Japan and worldwide.
This year, due to the effects of the COVID-19, it was held online.
On the day of the online exchange, discussions and presentations were held on issues related to the formation of a sustainable society, and a total of 70 people from 6 universities in 4 countries, Thailand, Vietnam, China, and Japan participated.
