Prof. Jamalauddin Jompa, Rector of Hasanuddin University, Indonesia Visits University of Toyama
On May 9, Prof. Jamalauddin Jompa, Rector of Hasanuddin University, Indonesia paid a courtesy visit to President Shigeru Saito of University of Toyama (UT).
Hasanuddin University and UT have concluded an inter-university agreement in March 2002 and have deepened exchanges over the past 20 years. This visit was aimed to discuss the promotion of academic exchange in the future including the strengthening of cooperation with Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine of UT and Toyama University Hospital.
At the courtesy visit, the President Saito mentioned the importance of further strengthening international cooperation between both universities and showed expectation for future contribution from Prof. Subehan, Vice dean of Hasanuddin University as a Liaison Professor of UT. Then, Executive Vice President Ikeda and Prof. Yoshihiro Hayakawa, Director of Institute of Natural Medicine outlined UT and the current situation of exchanging students and researchers in the field of pharmacy, which led to lively exchange of opinions regarding future collaboration between Hasanuddin University and UT.
After the courtesy visit, some of attendees of Hasanuddin University had opportunity to exchange their opinions on cooperation of hospitals and the educational programs of both universities with Prof. Atsushi Hayashi, Vice President, Director of Toyama University Hospital.
With this visit, further development of academic exchange and joint research between Hasanuddin University and UT can be expected.
