University of Toyama’s GRASS Centre Celebrates International Women’s Day

On March 8th, 2024, in observance of International Women’s Day, the University of Toyama’s Global Research Centre for Advanced Sustainability Science (GRASS) organized a special celebration at the Centre dedicated to Women’s Day. The event served as a platform to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of women -researchers, -staff, and -faculty members towards society and sustainable development.

The Director of the Centre, Prof. Naoya Wada, Vice-Director Prof. Horie Norio, and other esteemed GRASS members came together to extend warm congratulations and express deep appreciation for the invaluable impact of women in various fields. They emphasized the critical role that women play in driving progress and innovation, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and diversity in advancing sustainable solutions for global challenges.

The event provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality while also acknowledging the ongoing challenges and barriers that women face.
